Are you going on a tropical getaway which may include horseback riding? If yes, continue reading. Many tropical destinations got horseback riding attractions for both locals and tourists alike. It’s important to know what and what not to wear during the ride. Wearing what’s appropriate for it will make for a smooth horseback riding experience.
Steer clear of using loose clothing and fashion accessories. When riding too close to trees, they might get caught on the branches. Imagine what disaster a chandelier earring poses should it come too close to a tree branch! You can save looking all too stylish during the other parts of your vacation.
Go for jean skinny or tight workout pants. Baggy pants will only rub against your inner thighs during the ride. If the horseback riding activity is to be followed by a dip at a beach, for sure you’ll have to say ‘pass’. Shorts are also a no-no. It’s probable that your legs will get scratched should you ride right next to the bushes.
When it comes to footgear, go for something with heels measuring about an inch. Such is important to prevent your feet from going through the stirrups, if available. A pair of women’s brown boots with one-inch heels is great to be worn during the trail ride. Skip wearing open toed shoes and flip flops.
A cowboy hat will definitely complete your horseback riding look. However, it’s going to do nothing for your safety. That is why it’s best to wear a helmet instead. It doesn’t have to be that which is worn by equestrians. Any kind of protective helmet is fine. Simply trade your helmet with a cowboy hat during photo ops.
You should also wear sun block to protect your skin from the damaging effects of direct sunlight. Read the label: its SPF rating should be at least 15 or higher, according to dermatologists. Also, apply sun block at least 20 minutes before your trail ride, to make it more effective. Shirts with long sleeves won’t protect you from UV rays. Use BB cream with sunshield on your face, then put on dark sunglasses.
You want to remember your horseback riding activity as a pleasing experience. And not as a disastrous event during your tropical hideaway. Just make sure you include the items mentioned above in your suitcase.
