Two Fundamental Principles for Anxiety Reduction

Uncategorized Add comments

If you want to be mentally fit and able to manage stress and promote anxiety reduction you need to take account of the following stress management concepts. There are two simple principles that you owe to yourself to both understand, and find ways to bring them to life~In that respect are two elementary principles that you owe to yourself to both interpret, and find ways to bring them to life.

The first principle is recognising that you can change

In fact there has never been a time when you haven’t changed. Change is inevitable and like time it cannot be stopped. If you imagine of your life as a journey that has not concluded no matter how hard you strain you can’t see what lies out front for you. You didn’t choose to make this journey or when to begin; neither did you choose many of your companions. You didn’t choose the circumstances that help you flourish or those that hold you back. All of this happened without anyone consulting you. The question whether to change is a moot point, change is part of all journeys. The main issue is can you make the change a useful change for you??

I call this type of change useful change and there are three conditions for useful change.

1. Understand the present: Do not hide form it and try and see the present clearly

2. Step lightly from the past. The past cannot be changed don’t allow it to weigh you down.

3. Accept the uncertainty of the future. Much of the future is not under our control the only thing that is how we deal and act in the present including coping with uncertainty.

The second principle is valuing yourself.

If this is hard for you then the chances are that many aspects of your life are currently difficult. You are much more likely to see fault and be dissatisfied which are key sources of stress and mounting anxiety.
As human being we are vulnerable to losing our sense of self-worth as we tend to value ourselves by our achievements (See principle 1 recognise you can change) it is definitely possible to learn to value yourself more.
Finding a sense of value in yourself that does not depend on achievements will make you more resistant to your crippling doubts.

Three key strategies to build your sense of value

1. Fake it and behave as if you were confident. Ask yourself what would a confident person do and adopt that behaviour and note what happens.

2. Make the most of your mistakes and then ignore them think about them as water under the bridge.

3. Treat yourself right. Be kind to yourself, try and make your self take positive, and cut yourself some slack occasionally.

These two principles are pivotal components of all concepts of stress management and progress on these will really help you in your stress management and anxiety reduction
