Spammers Are Targeting Free Web Hosts

Spammers have now discovered a way that they can survive for longer without being blocked. They are now using free web hosting services to help them carry out their disreputable deeds albeit temporarily. They are doing this by jumping on the backs of some legitimate free web hosting companies for as long as they can. A report by security company McAfee has brought this despicable trend to our attention.

The Spam Report by McAfee for January 2010 has shown how these spammers are joining free web hosting companies and are utilising their offers of free hosting and free subdomains. The access to a third level domain that they are more often than not given means that to others they appear to be a genuine site. This is what causes the problems.

Spammers know that they are less likely to get blocked as quickly if they are associated with a genuine site which has been around for some time and that is why this trend is growing. The free web host will have been around for a while and more than likely has had genuine traffic involved. This can result in a longer delay before spam blockers actually block the host. This delay could result in billions of messages being created by the spammers .

Any free web hosts with links to 0catch.com are seen to be the ones that will be most likely to be targeted by spammers according to McAfee. The reasons for this are the fact that they do not spend much time trying to block spammers from hosting malware and they also commonly offer hosting to those who want to stay annonymous.

This just adds to the many reasons why legitimate online businesses should not opt for free web hosting. It is important for those who want their online business ventures to succeed to choose paid web hosting. They can then make sure that spammers do not spoil their business.

Whenever you make your decision to enter the big, bad world of internet marketing, you should really have hosting dealt with beforehand. But the world of web hosting can be confusing. For example, you may come across reseller web hosting or even linux web hosting while searching different options.
